Programs
Infants
At Busy Bee Preschool, we believe that learning begins at birth. Our center is designed to provide a safe, happy place for your little ones where they can grow and develop at their own pace. Our infant program serves children from 6 weeks of age until 12 months (or walking). Babies eat, sleep and play according to individual needs, helping them to feel safe and develop to their full potential. We understand that child development begins early and our staff is focused on facilitating learning at the earliest stage, which is what separates us from other child care facilities.
Our teachers recognize that every infant is unique with their own emotions, abilities and interests. We have created a program that focuses on the individual needs of each child. Our teachers take the time to develop an understanding of your child’s personality and developmental needs. The infant program provides the following for your child:
• Visual experiences through colorful toys and images• Language development through music and interactive play• Gross and fine motor skill development through educational toys and experiences• Cognitive skills as little ones develop memory retention and learn to recognize sounds• Emotional skills as infants feel safe in their environment and develop attachments• Social skills as the child learns to recognize familiar faces and play with others and develop early friendships
The infant program teachers at Busy Bee Preschool understand that infants are continuously learning. Their inquisitive nature creates an ideal opportunity for early education. Our teachers recognize these opportunities and help them learn the skills they need through play.
Our teachers are trained to work with your infant through the various stages of development. They will work with every family to create an environment which provides loving care and educational opportunities for each child who is part of this program.
Toddler
Our toddler program is designed for children 12 months (walking) to 24 months of age. We focus on creating a learning environment for this age group based on play while introducing them to science, art, music and language. At this age, children are sensory-motivated. They learn through touching, tasting, seeing and smelling as well as listening to others. Our goal is to enhance education by utilizing the natural curiosity of the toddler and to teach them that learning can be fun.
Our teachers are caring and trained in early childhood learning so they can help your child learn at his or her own pace. They work with each child’s personality to give them a positive experience where learning is part of everyday life rather than taught at specific times.
The toddler program continues to build upon the basic areas of development for the infant. Some of the areas they will work on include the following:• Communication – toddlers learn how to express themselves and have their needs met through words• Emotional development – toddlers will learn how to name their emotions and handle them in a positive way• Cognitive learning – this age group develops a bigger vocabulary and builds upon their imagination• Fine and gross motor skills – as they get older, toddlers learn how to do more tasks independently so they can be successful• Social skills – toddlers learn more about playing with others and sharing as they develop relationships with teachers and other students
Our teachers work with parents to provide a nurturing, learning environment for each child based on their unique needs and personality. Busy Bee Preschool provides a first-rate learning experience for every child that comes through our doors. Stop by a visit and find out how our childcare center is the right fit for your toddler.
Two's
Our two’s program is designed for children 24 months to 36 months of age. We focus on creating a learning environment for this age group based on play while introducing them to science, art, music and language. At this age, children are testing their independence. They learn through touching, tasting, seeing and smelling as well as listening to others. Our goal is to enhance education by utilizing the natural curiosity of the toddler and to teach them that learning can be fun.
A healthy balance in this class is achieved through interactive play, arts and crafts, and short-term learning concepts. Life skills such as sharing, manners, and helping to clean-up up are practiced daily. Picnics outside on our playground with extra playtime and water splash-play with our science tables are all part of their physical activities.
• Physical Development includes interaction with the environment, walking and running with coordination, fine motor skills, and maintenance of healthy growth.• Social Development includes communication, experiences or ideas, cooperative play, develop friendships, and empathy.• Emotional Development includes relationship with adults, identity of self in relation to others, pride in their own abilities, appropriate expression of emotion (to include complex emotions), and emotion & impulse control.• Language and Literacy Development includes the ability to understand complex ideas and directions, ability to use vocabulary, and interest in books (to include independent use of books.)• Cognitive Development includes cause and effect, spatial relationships, imitation, understanding of number and quantity; ability to group, sort & connect, and routines.• Approaches to Learning includes problem solving, ability to store and retrieve information and attention maintenance.• Having Fun! Preschool
Preschool age children are exploring their worlds, learning about boundaries and independence. At Busy Bee Preschool, we work to foster an environment where preschoolers learn in a safe, fun way. Our teachers help prepare your child for school by providing the foundational building blocks for lifelong learning.
Our curriculum inspires children to use their imaginations and to explore the world at their own pace. Preschoolers at our childcare center learn through play, various planned activities and using different tools that are provided.
Areas of focus include the following:• Literacy and Language – children listen to stories and expand their vocabulary while learning to recognize letters as well as their name• Math – children will be introduced to numbers and counting as well as grouping objects, which provide the foundation of future math lessons• Science – the teachers provide opportunities for children to observe and learn from the world around them while creating fun and safe experiments• Social skills – preschoolers develop their ability to play with friends, learning important character traits for future interactions and relationships with people• Emotional skills – teachers praise the children as they learn how to do things on their own, giving them self-confidence to tackle more complicated tasks as they grow• Gross and fine motor skills – through play and fun activities, children continue to develop their gross motor skills while learning fine motor skills through drawing, puzzles and other art projects
We work with the parents to develop learning opportunities that are geared towards the child’s interests and personality. We hope to teach every child that learning is fun and happens all the time to make them more aware of their environment. The goal of the teachers at Busy Bee Preschool is to help your child develop into a well-rounded person who not only excels in the classroom once they leave our center, but in the world as they go through life.
